The methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase 677C-->T polymorphism as a modulator of a B vitamin network with major effects on homocysteine metabolism
Article Abstract:
The 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHER) 677-->T polymorphin and B vitamins are studied as modulators of one-carbon metabolism in 10,601 adults from the Norwegian Colorectal Cancer Prevention cohort using plasma total homocysteine as the main outcome measure. The study provides comprehensive data on the MTHER-B vitamin network, which has major effects on the transfer of one-carbon units.

An LRP8 variant is associated with familial and premature coronary artery disease and myocardial infarcation
Article Abstract:
An analysis of on the candidate genes in the locus involving probands with premature coronary artery disease (CAD) or myocardial infarction (MI) from GeneQuest families without stenosis was detectable by coronary angiography. Result provides evidences that genetic variants in LRP8 can contribute to the development of premature and familial CAD and MI.

Polymorphism in maternal LRP8 gene is associated with fetal growth
Article Abstract:
A candidate-gene association study of birth weight and foetal growth restriction (FGR) in two independent study samples is presented. The two independent samples of black women provide consistent evidence that single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs2297660 in LRP8 is associated with fetal growth.
